The world’s largest square-rigged sailing vessel, Golden Horizon, a near replica of the 1913-built ocean vessel, France II arrived in Falmouth on Friday. She is a steel-hulled five-masted barque rigged tall ship used as a cruise ship. Certainly looks impressive alongside County Wharf pity Mrs S and I missed it.

That’s not the main photograph today though, it’s another of Paddy. I never imagined for an instant what this young fellow would bring into our lives. Aside from the obvious fitness benefits he is company on the days Clare works, fun as he disassembles ‘indestructible’ toys, exasperating as I get up and move the chair half a dozen times in thirty minutes to find his favourite ball and a comforting presence as I receive more sad news from former shipmates and friends.

Looking further ahead, TWO WEEKS until Joshua arrives home for some pre-deployment/summer leave.
