31 years and still going strong!

We had a lovely relaxed day to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary. Bb had kept his diary as free as possible, with only one online appointment at 5pm.  We met for coffee outside mid morning, which then became an impromptu informal lunch at a new-for-us place on the corner of Provença and Calabria, but not before a good walk to clock up our steps. With their one and only outside table being a table for two, it seemed to have our name on it. We had a celebratory glass of cava and their home made meat balls and chips.

I must admit to having a wee siesta in the afternoon as I hadn't slept well the night before.  I did do some bathroom cleaning afterwards though, to ease the guilt!

We didn't think we'd be hungry at night, but walked out anyway and stopped at a place we've seen before but couldn't get a distanced enough table on the terrace.  It turned out to be just the job and we enjoyed 'little white anchovies' in vinegar and garlic, followed by a big plate of grilled prawns, delicious both!  It was a very basic place near the old Modelo prison (currently being made into a school and cultural centre) and will most definitely be back.  I think we went through many of our friends while we were eating, saying, 'HB would love this place, so would Dot and busboy and busgirl' etc. Oh for the day when we can have guests again and enjoy dinner together.  However, I had the finest company of my best friend and husband of 31 years. Here's to us!
