Life In Wales

Plas Heli

We arrived in Pwllheli at lunch time and received a message from the Airbnb owner to say that the little house was ready for us, which was great as check in is usually 3pm. So we came straight here and unloaded the car and put the food and drinks in the fridge. The little house is very cute and exactly how it looked on the website, with a little balcony that has a sea view.

We walked into town and then to the marina where we came across Plas Heli which is the Welsh National Sailing Academy. They have a really nice bar/restaurant with a huge outdoor terrace overlooking the beach, so we decided to stop and have a drink. The view as you can see is amazing, and the beach was so quiet! It was really relaxing sat there in the sun, so we decided to stay there and had a late lunch/early dinner.

We’re now back at the little house and having a relaxing evening, it really feels like we’re on holiday and we’re only an hour away from home! Who needs Greece with views and weather like this?

In Covid news, the Welsh First Minister has announced today that whilst 6 people can meet indoors from Saturday, all other lockdown rules won’t be lifted until 7th August, and even after that, the wearing of face masks will still be mandatory in all public indoor places and on public transport. The exceptions will be in restaurants, bars and schools. I have to say that I’m happy with this, I think it’s far too soon to stop wearing face coverings, as the numbers continue to rise.
