Friday

Corfe castle.

We packed, had breakfast and left the lovely house that has been our home for the past week. We said our au revoirs to J & S who were heading home as we are having a 2 night stop in Swanage because we are having lunch with Mr Cs cousin tomorrow.

We had already decided to visit the castle that isn’t too far from our destination. We were 5 minutes from arrival when I looked for our NT cards and realised I didn’t have them. However, the lovely lady at the information desk was very helpful and gave me both a ticket for parking and entry.  We stopped in the cafe for a drink before we went into the castle, built by William the Conqueror but destroyed by parliamentarians in 1646. Wonderful views up there too (extras).

We had a walk around the village before exploring other areas. One being Worth Matravers and then onto Chapmans Pool where we parked up and had a lovely walk along the coastal path.

We booked into our B&B in Swanage but then headed out for something to eat. Once again it was very busy and we ended up with fish and chips. A walk along the promenade to the pier and back before bedtime.

(I’m nearly up to date ;-D…. Thank you for popping by xx).
