Saturday

After breakfast, drying my hair, getting dressed at the B&B we headed out for a little drive as we were not due at Mr Cs cousin until early afternoon. We drove around the Studland and pulled in here to admire the views but moved on to see if we could find somewhere a little quieter (not on a main road).  There is a large NT heathland area that we were able to drive around and eventually we parked up and I sat out on the grass to enjoy the peacefulness and read my book. After I got too hot , I went to sit in the car with the aircon on but it was great timing as 4 horses came wandering past having a good munch on the grass. I had also seen some deer in the Heath but too far away to snap them.

We drove onto Mr Cs cousin who live in a village quite close to Corfe.  A delightful cottage with the longest garden ever! It was such a nice afternoon and to catch up properly (we haven’t seen them for many, many years and 3 times in the past year for funerals ~ it was his lovely mum, Mr Cs aunt, who recently passed away). They made us a lovely lunch of chicken salad, with home grown salad bits and potatoes.

On the way back to the B&B we stopped off again in Worth Matravers to have a drink in the pub, Square and Compass. We passed it the other day but L recommended it for the views and he also delivers their beer from their micro brewery around Dorset once a week. We had to wait awhile but were not in any rush.  Once back in Swanage we had another evening stroll before turning in for the night.
