Jarl

After a morning ride where I punished mesen good and proper, it was off to the very south of the mainland for a pretty brilliant afternoon. First stop  Viking ruins of Jarlshof and then we took the coastal path to Sumburgh Head to spend time at the RSPB reserve watching hundreds of puffins on the cliff faces - along with plenty of guillemots, fulmars, bonxies and more, plus a fair few seals basking on the rocks. The German cafe at the top with the amazing views did us proud too. Then there was the walk back along the alternative clifftop path, scenery and views to die for all over again. Loved it.

I finished the day off with a trip down to the beach after 10pm for a wade around in the sea. Kind of freezing but kind of fun. Making the most of the late light nights and opportunities that won't be there quite so easily when I'm back at home.
