SWING TIME

I don't remember noticing this addition to the pier last time I looked. Somebody must have climbed up and secured (I hope) those ropes at the top, and I'm sure it would be highly disapproved-of officially.

Sadly, a young lad went missing while swimming near the pier last week and was later found drowned beneath it, and I met a couple of Council employees today who had been on the beach, warning people about the dangers. I didn't see anyone in deeper than their ankles. There seems to have been a shocking number of water-related fatalities in the last few days.
