Simonside from the carriage drive

Gill called and we went through the woods to the carriage drive. This tree was burned a few years ago when kids camping let their fire take hold of the peat and it spread, burning trees as it moved along.

We only did 10000 steps as she had to drive home to her puppy. Her husband can manage it for no more than 2 hours. It was lovely to catch up as we’d not seen each other since April, what with me being away or her having family to stay.

I draped the coat on Gill who is size 8 like my daughter. The body is fine. It is the sleeves which aren’t long enough or wide enough even though I did the decreasing exactly as instructed. I have checked. So annoying. More ripping out. I wanted to have it finished for her for the holidays. The plan is I’ll take it with me and I can work out an improvised pattern while she’s around.
