Saint Lawrence Kirkyard, Burray

Wearing jumper, coat and a woolly hat on 1st August..... that doesn't seem right, but with the cool northerly wind it was necessary to wrap up for a walk this morning. 

We first enjoyed a wander round the old churchyard in Burray.
There is a good circular walk from there which takes in the beautiful beach at Bu Sands. There was no-one else on it! How lucky we are in Orkney to have all these wonderful empty beaches. 

The afternoon was devoted to the funding application until our minds were so befuddled with words and figures that we decided to declare it 'Finished!' 
For recovery purposes and as a small celebration, J made strong tea and brought the remains of the fruit cake out of the pantry.
