Dragonfly

Found in the middle of Thursley Common. Metal,  about four foot long. Incongruous and unexplained. One of the most isolated spots in Surrey with miles of gorse and heather and not much else. A long and impressive wetland boardwalk was closed as it was in the process of being repaired after fire damage earlier this summer. Lots of blackened scrub and scorched earth bore testimony to the fires. 

The kitchen ceiling fell in whilst we were out. Hate it when that happens. Result of water damage from a leaking pump which we first noticed last week and have just had replaced. Now have a hole about two metres square to look at whilst we cook. Insurance assessor is coming first thing tomorrow morning. Good teamwork on the cleaning up front; everyone mucked in.

Life is just one thing after another at the moment …
