So long for now London

We had a couple of hours to fill before heading to Euston. I enjoyed a rootle round Neals Yard and some of the little shops in the area. It’s been good to spend some concentrated time in one district instead of flitting all over the City. Covent Garden would be interesting to live and work in, for a while anyway, not forever.

We tried out the first class lounge at Euston station. It was ok, Tom said the coffee was rubbish.

There was a bit of a conundrum getting us sat down. A gentleman had to sort out his elderly parents because they sat in our seats. It actually worked out better as we got to sit together and they were together too.
The older people had also just dumped their little suitcases near the door, their son told them off politely, it was very funny.

We weren’t even passed Harrow and three staff complete with trolleys came through. The first with tea, coffee or water, the next with wine etc and the third with food.

The train had to be reset at Preston. This simply involved switching it off and on again, a bit like the IT department tell you to try it sometimes when a system is playing up. Fortunately it worked and we were on are way again.

Interesting train people included a mid teenage lass, very well spoken with a large Harvey’s Nichols bag and sparkly, pearl studded boots. Full of the joys of youth, telling her grandad what she’d been up to, it was lovely to hear the confidence in her voice. Another beautiful lady with nails 3” long on each hand, and an over inflated chest asked for an apple and a bottle of water only throughout the whole journey. She did have a very slim waistline though. Perhaps I should try apples and water! :))))

It also makes me smile when people say they are travelling to the Lake District, and when you enquire where exactly they answer with a town that is at least 20 miles from said spot.
