Hipster tote bag

I had planned to go in the garden today as there was plenty to do however the rain was falling in stair rods! It did stop for a while and I managed a bit dead of heading but not for long and the clouds rolled in again.

I decided it was a sewing day and after OH had left to watch the football (first live game in almost 18 months) I got my sewing machine out. I was pleased to complete a project which I started a few months back. The tapestry has taken a while and after I finished it I received a request from No.2 who asked if I could combine the tapestry to make him a tote bag. I bought some canvas and did the sewing today. He has a quirky taste so I think he will like it.

I do enjoy the actual ‘making’ but don’t have the sort of house which suits tapestry cushions or foot stools. They also end up quite expensive to make with a skein of wool costing around £2.00. I have another project on the go which has taken around 20 skeins so far and it’s still not finished. Oh well - keeps me awake in the evening. There was a project discussed a while ago to recover the kneelers in the chapel but I don’t think it ever got off the ground.
