visits

This morning a squirrel on my deck decided not to run from me but to eat the nuts I had just laid out, even with me still standing right there. I photographed her with my iPad and she paused when I adjusted the iPad for composition. She was within one foot of me! I would share a picture but it isn't loading. 

A local friend, the one who is moving to Mississippi, came to visit to comfort me. She sat with me for hours in the gazebo and let me tell her stories about the friend I'm visiting next week. I've made good life choices to wind up with such good friends, even if she is planning to move someplace with so many mosquitos. 

This picture of the wildflower was taken with a new manual lens I've been playing with, and my first experiment with a prism.
