The Hermitage

This afternoon we drive Jane to Friar’s Carse Hotel for her friend Irene’s 80 th birthday tea. It’s set in beautiful grounds , next to the river Nith.
My partner and I went for a walk along the Nith and round past a folly called The Hermitage. Robert Burns used to compose poetry there !
