Merlin EH1010
A fine day, mostly cloudy, the odd sunny spell, and fairly calm.
Another late shift working in the airport. I was busy on the check-in desk in the morning, working with helicopters in the afternoon and then meeting and boarding in the evening. It's been a late night, only getting home just before 2200hrs. Edinburgh came in two hours late, and then got grounded for the night. We had to rearrange all the passengers. We also had an American pharmacist millionaire land with a big jet, which is staying overnight. Walkies with Sammy, and then bed.
Another arrival today was this Merlin EH101, which arrived from HMS Northumberland. It refuelled and headed on It's way north. It's a pretty smart looking helicopter, has a hinged tail, and the curved tips on the blades break the sound barrier, and make a unique noise when rotating. All these things that come and go from the airport, prior to me working here, I was totally unaware being here. Taken at Sumburgh Airport, with Sumburgh Lighthouse in the background.
