Between the Slats
An outing to Elvaston Castle with the camera club this morning. Nine of us turned up. I persuaded Ann to come with me to the walled garden which is always a pleasure to wander.
We had missed the best but there was still Golden Rod, Echinacea, Rubeckia, Eryngium and Verbena to admire and just generally the layout of the borders.
We enjoyed coffee and cake afterwards. All drinks and food are now served outside so it was a good thing that it wasn't TOO cold.
Basil was much admired having had his grooming yesterday. Somebody didn't realise who he was at first since they've only ever seen him with shaggy fur.
