An exciting day

We dropped Amber at the kennels first thing then headed down to Duxford Air Museum near Cambridge to meet up with A, Max and Annie. The first time we have met up since Feb ‘20 which was at the Science Museum in London. I was amazed at how much they had grown, Max is now taller than A.

The event on today was a Young Aviators Flying Day, so lots of families there to enjoy the air displays and the static aircraft.

I was thrilled to bits to see a Lancaster on the runway with engines running when we arrived and delighted to hear that it’s the one from the Battle of Britain’s Memorial flight based south of us in Lincolnshire. We have seen it in the hanger at RAF Coningsby when we visited.

There is just so much to see and do there, and well worth a visit for all ages. I wasn’t sure how the children would see it, as they haven’t been on an aircraft, but they were fascinated and are looking forward to the next visit when they can see more.

B and I spent the night at a pub at Barton, just 10 minutes up the M11. It has a Thai restaurant, so a tasty dinner was enjoyed.

I’ve added some pictures in extras to give a taste of what’s on offer.
