notre dame de la garde
Went shopping for dinner supplies and bought some "tetes de choco" - basically the French equivalent of Tunnock's 'Snowballs' with a wafer at the bottom. They were amazing! Disturbingly, they used to be called 'tetes de negres' in France - thankfully, the French have wised up.
Headed to the Vieux Port in the afternoon and caught a bit of sunshine as we meandered around. Drove up to Notre Dame de la Garde and took a few photos of the bloody spectacular view.
Inside the church is breathtaking - the paintings on the ceilings, the pictures of boats on the walls, the strings of sea vessels hanging from the ceiling - all pretty moving as Notre Dame is there as a protector of those on the sea.
Made chicken for dinner but as it took about 3 years in the gas oven, we ended up snacking on cheese, ham, bread and some spuds! It's always better to eat these things the next day anyway...
