FLOWER FRIDAY - PHOTOBOMBED BY A BUMBLE BEE

We had a good chat with Lynn and Mike, our lovely neighbours first thing this morning and then came indoors and sat having a cup of coffee together and another chat about our plan for the day - we like to have a plan, but don’t always stick to it.

I decided to dead-head some of the flowers in the border, while Mr. HCB is still strimming the grass - I think it is a bigger job than he thought, but he’s getting there and thankfully has a good strimmer.  Partway through strimming, he saw a little frog jumping, so had to stop and take it over to the pond - we were both pleased to see that it appeared to be swimming well - I certainly didn’t want to have to conduct a funeral service for a frog!

Dead-heading completed, I took several shots of our Verbena Bonariensis because there were dozens of bees around that and the Agastache just nearby, so although it is strictly speaking Flower Friday, I’m sure this little bumble bee, who was working well, deserves its fifteen minutes of fame on Blip today, although I realise the flower isn't quite in focus.

Our green bin is now completely full, so the next strimming session will have to wait until next week after it’s collected, but Mr. HCB is off to cricket next week anyway, so that works out well.  It’s quite chilly today, so we won’t be sitting in the garden to have our lunch, but I think an afternoon of reading and chatting is on the cards.

Have a great weekend and I hope the sun shines on you wherever you are.
