A Sunday Drive
Mild and overcast all day. Between Trek’s barking and Shadow demanding pets, I had another sleepless night at Kim’s. Mancil finally came down with his sword to investigate-found nothing. But we managed to get Parker to work by 8:00 and then, Hubby and I headed to Brooklyn’s soccer tournament, a two-hour drive north. She played her heart out but a win was not in the cards. Our offense was powerless over the other team’s defense and did not score. And our defense could not keep them at the other end of the field. Brooklyn (goalie in green top) got tackled to the ground in the bottom photo but she held onto the ball. She had other great saves but one of our players accidentally kicked the ball in once, they scored on a penalty kick, made one goal that she couldn’t stop with her body and one she deflected but it landed too close to stop the second time. Tough game all around. We stopped for burgers on the way home, adding an hour to the drive, and are now catching up on laundry. It’s kitty snuggle time but I am exhausted. The kids will all be back in school tomorrow so I’ll have to find new blip material. Hope your Sunday was pleasant. Thanks for the visit. “The goalkeeper position is not an easy one. You can only speak about it if you are a goalkeeper yourself.” - Simon Mignolet.
