Brown Garden Snail

Cantareus aspersus (M¸ller)

I found this snail in the garden this afternoon, and of course, as soon as I shifted it, it curled into its shell. I left it, and came back, only to find that it had started to move. I quickly took a few shots, once again lying on the ground in the garden, and being eaten alive by blimming sandflies. Grrrrrr.
