The Cobbler/Ben Arthur
The best of days in the Arrochar Alps climbing the jaggedy Cobbler, minus threading the needle bit. An easy climb at first through woodland into open country and the massive Narnain boulders which provided welcome shade for morning coffee. The blip shows where the path forks, the right one leading to Ben Narnain and Ben Ime, it was tempting to incorporate Ben Ime, the heat and potential lack of water kept me on the other path which after some straightforward scrambling led to non technical summit, and lunch. An easier descent down the well constructed path and back onto the Ben Ime track.
The extra is the Allt a’Bhalachain stream which kept me company most of the way. Very tempting to have a dook in this spot, however by 2.30 the path was quite busy so I just dangled my feet and sat in the sun which wasn’t too hot, reluctant to return to the car park.
Back in Glasgow the temperature was 27. Rain is forecast for tomorrow.
