Going Fishing
A visit to Aberfoyle this morning but not for the happiest of reasons. Morna wanted me to be there when she scattered her wee Border Terrier, Togbe’s ashes under his favourite bush by the river.
I always stop at the Lake of Menteith for a few moments just hoping to get that perfect reflection. It was very misty this morning but that certainly didn’t stop the fisherfolk from heading out to the middle of the lake with their rods and bait.
I stopped again on my way home and by that time the mist had burned away and there was a bit of reflection round by the Lake of Menteith Fisheries.
A very long journey home ….. the road to the motorway was blocked by a police van and the cars were being directed down what looked like a very long single track road which linked a number of farms. Fortunately, apart from two cyclists and one tractor with a load of hay bales, there was no oncoming traffic and we continued at snail’s pace for a about an hour to the end of the road. It was so hot ….. not ideal driving conditions even with the air conditioning on.
