Fluidity

We took a detour from Haworth to The Hepworth in Wakefield, as I wanted to see a special exhibition of the life and work of Barbara Hepworth. It is a splendid exhibition, well spaced out to give room for the sculptures (and people) and a pleasure to walk round. Something that is special about the exhibition is the way it shows the process of making these forms, some of them so huge.

I do find some of Hepworth's stone and bronze sculptures quite mesmerising (see extra), but the more fluid forms of her work in metal are just so full of movement - they change as you walk round them, as a real sculpture should.

The second extra was a 'sculpture' seen from the bridge from the car park!

PS
Good that the judges agreed with me last night. They made the right choice!
