Crane fly

From the solemnity of a funeral to the ridiculousness of tonight’s council meeting.

A member of our Rock Choir died recently. Her funeral was today. She was an effervescent, inclusive person who welcomed all who joined the choir. She will be much missed by all who knew her.

Our item on the council agenda was a shambles. They had overturned a resolution at the July meeting not to register the donated land until a way forward had been identified. They were advised, after the July meeting, that it was not legally sensible to leave land unregistered. Shouldn’t that have known that before passing the resolution?

So they now own the land under the conditions that it must be used for allotments and gardens meaning that the expansion of the tennis club can only take place on our allotments.

They haven’t even started to analyse the responses to their consultation. They’re waiting until representatives from our allotments join their working group. They will have to wait a long time as our committee resolved today not to join the working group.

There is a way out for the council in that if an acceptable solution cannot be found then the land reverts back to the original owner. This is going to run a while longer.

I had a couple of other shots lined up for today’s blip until this daddy longlegs presented itself. A confusion of gangly body parts and distorted shadows. What are those two big paddle shaped shadows? We think they are magnifications of tiny paddle like structures on the side of their body
