Sunday: Ucluelet

It was raining quite heavily when we woke up but by the time we were ready to go out it had turned into a glorious day again.  Through the rain, though, we did spot three bears on the beach from our balcony, a mother and two cubs.  We rang J&S who managed to see them too.

We drove down to Ucluelet for a walk and breakfast.  Back via Lighthouse Park Trail. Long Beach and Chestermans Beach.  The weather was still glorious so we stopped off for a couple of drinks on the deck at Hatch’s Waterfront Pub.  

Dinner reservation at the 1909 Kitchen.  It was absolutely fine and we had a really nice meal but, like yesterday, our server commented that the menu was severely reduced (to burgers and pizzas mainly) as they just can’t get the staff at the moment.  It’s just another fall out of covid.
