Tablelands, Nfl.
We had a fabulous day! Headed out after breakfast and checked out the Discovery Centre....lots of good info. Then onto the Tablelands! This is a very strange flat topped mountain - "Pushed in place as continents collided almost half a billion years ago, its orange weathered rock is from the middle layer of the Earth. Shaped by glaciers less than 15,000 years ago....best example of the Earth's mantle" (taken from one of the National Park booklets!) It wasn't a very challenging hike, but man am i out of shape....took us about 2 hours, with lots of stops to take photos of course! So Cool.
Then onto Trout River for lunch which was in a sweet little place right on the beach! A short walk around there and then onto Woody Point, where we had another walk about!
In the extras: a view of Gros Morne from the Tablelands, and at the end of the trail on the Tablelands. I found this particular area so like some parts of Scotland!!!
