Thursday: Shannon Falls

It was a public holiday today, the first of its kind.  It was Truth and Reconciliation Day, introduced to reflect on what needs to be done in terms of the discrimination and disadvantages suffered by indigenous communities in Canada.  It’s been interesting to see how it has been marked across the country.

It was also J&S’ last day.  We had the full day so we went back to Squamish for lunch at the Watershed Grill, a favourite of theirs.  There has been a lot of rainfall over the last 24 hours so we stopped off at Shannon Falls to see them thundering down.

Their flight was a bit delayed and we had a bit of time so, rather than hang around, we headed to our local bar and had a few drinks and J’s favourite, chicken wings.

And then it was off to the airport.  It has been wonderful having them - they are the best company and we really do have a lot of fun together.
