Crocuses in Snow

Driving along an urban road at lunchtime, marvelling st the fact that the large drifts of daffodils were still to come into bloom when I noticed these crocuses on the corner. I reckon spring must be about 3 weeks behind in the West Midlands.

Having been blipping for over a year you notice certain indicators of the seasons. For example lapwings are around again, showing off their acrobatic abilities. They were around at the same time last year. But these crocuses have only just come into bloom whereas I took shots of them at another location on 1st March in 2012.

Mother nature never fails to fascinate.
