Hawthorn berries

A brighter day so far. We decided to look for hawthorn berries beside Loch Cuin although have to admit a not too successful haul, ideally kilos are needed. Along the way we came across a couple of fresh looking mushrooms, think we will include them in the lunch time eating.

The berries will eventually need to be planted over at the tree nursery, however before this they will be cleaned of stalks, remove the pulp, a fiddly job, stratified over winter and when shoots appear to be transplanted into root trainers.

Extra shows a hardy hawthorn beside the Loch, one of my favourite trees, and a full river Bellart.
