Waiting...
Funny day off today.
Had to be at my flat this morning to let the workmen in to fix my security door phone. Took about a hour to do as he had to wait for one of his colleagues to bring a new unit up from....somewhere.....
He was very prompt, courteous and did the work very efficiently. However, the Council, in an effort to save money on paperwork obviously think the direct approach is the best so instead of filling out any feedback paperwork, I was simply asked to rate him and his work out of 10. I was feeling nice so I gave him a 10. If I was feeling naughty I would have given him 1 :-)
Watching him leave from the window, you can imagine my reaction when he forgot that there was a concrete post directly in front of his van and as he started to drive away there was the definate sound of crunching metal! It's not nice to see a grown man cry so I went off for a cuppa.
I then popped into work as two of the nurses were turning 40 today and we'd arranged a birthday lunch and pressie ceremony for them both. It was really nice as lots of people turned up and we sat around in the lunch room and ate bread and cheeses (I don't eat cheese so I had lots of crusty bread which will go straight to my hips:-) and then tucked into the magnificent birthday cake that someone had made. I've never baked a cake in my life but think I may try now...I'm feeling inspired.
Came back home to walk the dawg who promptly became today's Blip.
Have now been spending most of the afternoon doing some homework regarding my flat service charges and the extortionate amount that the robbing bastards council want me to pay them every month. I'm compiling information as I plan to go to a Leasehold Valuation Tribunal about it. Deep joy!
Off out tonight to meet up with two friends to plan our roadtrip to Devon in May. We've booked a photography weekend away and tonight is meant to sort out where we''re going and when whilst we're darn sarf. There will be alcohol involved tonight and so I can see it descending into chaos :-)
