Autumn leaves for Mamí

This afternoon we made birthday cards for their mom, whose birthday is tomorrow. Evan reasoned that since her birthday is always in October, she should have an autumn leaves birthday card. I love his design sense. Bella decided to write a marvelously-elaborate four-page story in Spanish. I love these kids!

I'm relieved to report that the bluster and threats of the Proud Boys and their friends came to nothing last night. Sean Kealiher's friends "lit up the night" with fireworks, and his mother Tweeted around midnight, "Safe, hope y’all are." So far as I've heard, no arrests, no violence. News media who like to trash young protesters reported some broken windows, but there is no way to know who broke the windows or why.
