Slow packing for a quick trip
Rain, rain and more rain....... with a bit of wind thrown in for good measure. The weather did a good job in keeping me from heading away in the van today but I will leave tomorrow. It's just a quick trip down to Ashburton to have my solar system upgraded....... several have asked why I don't have it done here..... fair question. I simply haven't found anyone here who seems to have the same level of knowledge or specialisation as the guy I found in Ashburton last summer. I had wanted to have it done when I headed down to Twizel for a winter break but the COVID outbreak put pay to those plans.... followed by no deliveries of new stock to him, followed by an incapacitating bout of sciatica for me...... I now have a window of a few days and I'm GOING!! The packing and prepping has been super s-l-o-w today but it will happen. Can't imagine I'll be leaving very early tomorrow though!
In COVID news......51 new cases today so the numbers are bouncing around a bit. Could we tentatively call it a plateau? That might be a bit optimistic. On a more positive note, there's a feeling in some quarters that yesterday's Super Saturday Vax-a-Nation drive may have very subtly helped to soften the resolve of some reluctants. We'll see.
