Not One, But Two
Sunny but chilly. Hubby had his scheduled nuclear stress test early today so as usual, he was gone before I awoke. He also stopped at the VA to get a hearing appointment. When you are busy or away from home often, orderliness sometimes suffers. Today, I decided to reorganize a few things and it felt great to get those jobs done. My mother’s refrigerator alarm was driving her nuts, so we went down and hubby reset it but he was unable to change the water filter. It seemed to be locked and would not release. We took my mother to get her flu shot and the pharmacist convinced her to get her first shingles vaccine in her other arm. She will be sore tomorrow and maybe even feverish. We did a bit of shopping, took our groceries home and picked up ice to protect her refrigerated items. She treated us to dinner: unlimited soup, breadsticks and salad - yum! My mother’s sweet tooth is almost as bad as mine. She could not resist the black tie chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Hubby and I shared a slice and it was delectable. My sister and I have noticed Momma rarely cooks/eats a meal so it felt wonderful to see her enjoy every bite. She admitted it was her first food today. Momma hinted that she would love to go back to that restaurant soon. Hint taken! We wanted to take her mind off the pain in her arms; success. Thanks for visiting and leaving stars/kind comments. Stay safe. "Soup puts the heart at ease, calms down the violence of hunger, eliminates the tension of the day, and awakens and refines the appetite." — Auguste Escoffier
