What a difference!

What a difference a day makes! Yesterday’s River Mole was very civilised, busy but controlled. Today it is hurtling noisily along, and over its banks. The extra shows yesterday’s view as it looks today and you can see that the meadows on the far side are flooded. Down in the town the water is high in the arches of the old bridge.
All this excitement is because we had a terrific storm yesterday evening. Just one clap of thunder but sheets of torrential rain for a good long time, I was at my WI meeting, and couldn’t believe how bad the weather had got while we were inside. It was a challenge driving home. This morning the local Facebook page is full of stories of homes being flooded. It is just surface water not getting away., but causing a lot of distress. Our home was not affected thankfully.
