Gawthorpe Hall
I met my sister in law Alison at Gawthorpe Hall. We went a walk round the grounds until the hall opened. We wandered round the rooms, I have been before but there were new displays and it is lovely to see inside the house. One of the highlights is the long gallery seen in the extra, the wall paper has gold leaf in it. Pat told me there was a beautiful textile exhibition part of the British textile biennial which is all round Lancashire in the barn. An installation called Lost Threads by Lubaina Himid. The collage shows parts of the display. We had to wear hard hats when we went into the barn. It was amazing and the materials so beautiful. There was no cafe there and I wanted to look at duvet covers so we went to Boundary Mill. It wasn't too busy so it was fine.
