Waspish weather

My daughter and I enjoyed a very pleasant 10 mile bike ride in the October sun today. When I went to put the bikes away in the bike shed I found this sleepy feller basking in the sun on the shed side panel. He wasn't at all bothered as I opened the door to put the bikes away. I did wonder if he was the same wasp my wife encouraged out of our bathroom last night with a feather duster! I'm no expert on insects but according to the Buglife website it is not uncommon to find wasps still active in the autumn.
