Can’t Keep A Good Guy Down

Sunny and mild. High winds later in the day. I was afraid of oversleeping so once I woke up at 1:00 am, I was awake for the duration. Got out of bed at 5:15 am and we were at the surgi-center before they turned on the lights. Hubby’s knee replacement surgery went well. I guess the surgeon cut through layers, took out the damaged parts and replaced them with titanium. It took the nurse about 10 minutes into the first post op walk to recognize and caution hubby’s overachiever inner workings. We were back home by 11:30 am. We have spreadsheets for meds, exercises, icing the knee, walking around the house, taking compression stuff off and on, etc. Otherwise, we’d never be able to do all this stuff correctly and on time. But, he is able to walk every hour with his walker and knee stabilizer. His first physical therapy is at 8:30 am tomorrow. Sure hope I get a few hours of sleep between now and then. The meds are on a 24-hour schedule so we will be up at least at 3:00 am. My sister and our children have been very attentive, offering any help we need. We’ll have a small dinner and wind down from this busy day. Thanks for all the hearts, stars and visits yesterday. I am humbled. Stay safe folks. My booster side effects are pretty mild.
“As we look at the insides of humans,
We find the inside of ourselves
And each other.
What lies beneath us?
What do we believe
About the world and our place in it?
We cut down layer upon layer
And dissect the inner life.” - Eric Overby
