Plean country park

I am ashamed to say that until today neither M nor myself had visited Plean Country Park even though it lies less than twenty minutes from our home.
 
At its heart lies Plean House, now a derelict mansion.
 
This is a former mining area, which covers 220 acres of mature woodland, parkland, wilderness , ponds and wildlife meadow.
 
It is well used locally and today despite it being a bleak November afternoon there were plenty of people there from dog walkers, horse riders and children as well as walkers enjoying this unexpected bit of natural environment literally on our doorstep.
