Today's the day ....................... for special music

Meet Deke - saxophone soloist/band member/teacher extraordinaire!

He has been teaching Will how to play the saxophone for many months now, although they've never actually met face to face.  As a necessity of covid restrictions, all the teaching has been happening via Zoom. Tonight though, he was playing at the Town Hall in Rutherglen as part of a live gig - a Bruce Springsteen Tribute Band.  It was too good a chance to miss, so we got some tickets and persuaded good friends Alan and Louise to come along too.  

They were all very good too (specially Deke) - although I have to say it is many moons since my eardrums have been subjected to that level of decibels!  But it was great to be back in a venue with live music - with what must have been a capacity audience.

What was even more up my street though, was when we went back to Louise and Alan's wonderful house, where we were staying the night.  There was another live gig there - but this one was just for us.  We were treated to an exquisite performance of favourite songs and other music by three members of that multi-talented, musical Mairs Family.  

Now that was really special .........................
