River Dee at Tongland

Today's the day ...................... to look the other way

Remember the Telford Bridge at Tongland?  Well, this is the view from it today - but looking northwards, upstream this time.

It was all quite peaceful at high tide with lots of autumn colours in the trees.  That's a bit of the old railway bridge on the right, which used to carry the Castle Douglas to Kirkcudbright line across the river.  

And in the distance is the Tongland Hydro-electric Power Station, looking quite architectural .........................
