Feral Pigeon #105
It's been a busy day. This morning I had a lovely few hours with my old school friends having brunch and a real good natter. It's been a few weeks since we last met up.
This afternoon I picked up a few bits from the supermarket and made a casserole for dinner.
My husband has had a really painful foot this past few days and we thought it was probably a reoccurrence of tendonitis which he seems particularly prone to. It looked quite red today so I made him phone up the doctors, but of course you can't book an appointment until on the day and all of today's were obviously already taken. We have a drop in centre in Widnes, so he called them and a couple of hours later someone called him back and then gave him and appointment for this evening. It turns out that it is probably gout rather than tendonitis, so he has to get and appointment with his GP next week and have a blood test to get it confirmed.
So now we have spent half the night looking up gout on the internet and deciding what he can and cannot eat and drink and if there is anything we can do to prevent it coming back in the future. In the meantime some ibuprofen and ice is all the triage nurse could offer, but she said it should ease in a few days, even without any specialist medication. She also told him to get a PCR test as he has got the cough that I have had for the past three weeks, even though he's taken 3 LFTs in the past week and so have I - all have come back negative. So, I've booked for us to have a PCR test each tomorrow morning just to double check.
Todays blip is just one of the feral pigeons that tend to descend onto the bird feeders as soon as they are filled up. It's another of the easy species that is now added to my list. I will catch up with journals tomorrow I hope. Goodnight.
