Lusetter

A windy day, showers throughout the day, mostly cloudy, but the odd glimpse of sunshine.

Another day working in the airport.  I've been on the check-in desk all day, and a fairly quiet day of passengers.  Finished work, had tea, and dashed down for my shift in the shop.  Walkies with Sammy, and then feet up for the night.

One of life's regrets, my soaking feet after a lunchtime walk!  It was worth it.  I headed down to some old ruins, been meaning to explore them for years now, and loads more in the same area still to see.  They are really well built old croft houses, looking like a laird had possibly built them for his tenants.  The one in front with the attached kiln, it has a very sturdy interior wall, which generally meant the laird cared a bit more about the crofters.  An unusual building in the left.  It's looks very similar to a fishing bød, with the door at the gable, small and the upstairs fire, but strangely out of place, being so far away from the sea.  Sadly most of this area was cleared in the 19th century, to make way for sheep, leaving me wondering what the place would look like today.  The croft house(s) of Lusetter, near Clumlie, Dunrossness.
