What is a Church?

Sunny and a bit brisk all day, temps in the mid 60s F. We had another hectic schedule so we got up and got busy. My first task was to make a promised pineapple upside down cake for our friend’s funeral repast. Picked up Mancil’s Rx scripts on the way to the funeral. Regina was 92 but still cutting her grass and driving to Mass a few days before she had a seizure. They found a brain tumor and she passed peacefully four days later. God was merciful to his faithful servant. Her son (my friend since childhood) and two grandsons gave the eulogy. Hubby and I agreed we could only hope for half as many wonderful things to be said at our wake. And I believe them all to be true. The burial was at the graveyard belonging to this church, “Holy Face.” My father, sisters and I all attended the Catholic school that this church administers. We would walk over here weekly for Mass. We were blessed to receive such solid faith development here. The doors were locked so I was unable to get inside pictures. After the repast, we dropped the scripts off at the pharmacy and picked up our grocery order. We arrived at Brooklyn’s school two minutes before the agreed upon pick-up time. Hubby has a Knight’s meeting tonight but I am ready for the recliner. My oldest daughter stayed with her father today. His BP was a bit better. She was able to get him out of the bed. But it took all his energy to take about 10 steps. I was sure she would get him moving and thinking of helping himself get better. His cardiologist has changed the meds given him at the hospital that he believes is the cause of the low BP and overall weakness. Thanks for stopping by and leaving stars/comments. We were told that all COVID patients in our hospital today were vaccinated. Stay smart and cautious folks. “I thank God for teaching me as a child that church is not merely an organization we join, or a place of worship we go to when it is convenient. Church is the Body of Christ.” - Dr. Stephen A. Gammon
