The pond
At the driveway with ice beginning to form. Overnight the temperature dropped to 19F (-7C) after an afternoon high of 50F (10C). Today’s high was to be 29F (-1) .
A photo from another day of this location in the extra.
After a quick trip to the area where the guys had been hunting Jerry returned and announced we were starting home. Knowing him so well I had already readied most of our things to be packed into the truck. He said that the elk were just not showing up on the properties that they were hunting so he was ready to leave. The other guys were going to stay one more day just in case they saw one.
So we loaded up the truck, stopped by the processor to get the deer meat that had been frozen then got started on the drive. Tonight we are in North Platte, Nebraska after having driven 440 miles in six and a half hours.
Tomorrow is going to be a long day.
