Dinorwic slate quarries
The weather was much better today so we set off for a walk up behind Llanberis, up Moel Eilio, then along to Foel Gron and Foel Goch, and then back down. I didn't realise that the walk has a nickname of the Big Dipper, but I can see why - it was really steep, both up and down! My poor knee - it was very painful by the end, but we did have amazing views all day long - of Snowdon, of the range from the Eliders to the Glyders with Tryfan peeping from behind, and of the Dinorwic Quarries, which is the area where we spent a lot of our childhood holidays. A great but exhausting walk!
