The University Gang 40th Birthday celebrations have begun and are set to last for the next two years. The advancing years, grey hairs and bodily creaks aside, this does mean entering two years of (hopefully) seeing much more of each other and sharing lots of celebrations. First up is Jen, who chose a weekend in Liverpool for her celebrations - though for various reasons the rest of the gang couldn’t make it.

A train ride trying to find each other in various overcrowded carriages, food at the Albert Dock and drinks at the apartment. Glamorous champagne and canapés 34 floors up, overlooking the bright lights of the city below. The hilarity of watching drunk people dance. And the kind of conversations you can have with friends of twenty years. Buttery toast on the return to the apartment. A good way to start the celebrations.
