Diary of an Edinburgher

Happy Birthday Elizabeth!

Archie had a peaceful night, and was feeling much better in the morning. He even had a wee look for his toys. He can quite whizz around when he has his plastic bag off, but has to wear that outside. He’s been for three short walks round the block today.

Pip came to visit us because his mum was out for a meeting. Pip was also feeling a bit frail, having had his teeth cleaned the day before Archie. And, shock horror, he had SEVEN teeth removed. He’s nine. We’re all feeling like very bad parents, and vowing to get the toothbrushes out from now on.

Pip still has stitches in his mouth, so I had some tiny pieces of soft bread for treats, so I was his best friend. But it was so cold outside we just had an ‘at home’. (Extra 1)

Later on, Elizabeth popped in - look at that smile - (Extra 2) as it was her birthday. Archie went bonkers when he saw her - that wee peg leg didn’t cramp his style. We shared a nice bottle of bubbles and she opened her presents, which included a ‘Hotel Chocolate’ advent calendar from Archie.

I spent about two hours of the afternoon on a ‘Live Chat’, trying to sort out (yet another) techie issue. The other person kept not replying for oh, ten minutes at a time, and I’d ask ‘Are you still there?’ then she’d reply and thank me for waiting and apologising profusely. Then she’d go away again. I’d already rung this company and spoken to someone, perhaps in India, who just hung up, claiming the line was bad. Next person I rang requested photographic evidence of my purchase, which I emailed to their customer services address - no answer. My last resort was the Live Chat today. I THINK it’s resolved, though I haven’t tried yet. Working up the will to try it…

The wind, Storm Arwen, is beginning to pick up speed. Hopefully it will have passed over by the morning without too much damage.
