Waiting

The little polar bear and fairy are waiting by the advent calendar, ready for Wednesday and Tinsel the Elf is ready to spring into action too on the same day.  Violet is disappointed that Tinsel has not yet appeared but to make up for that we had a birthday to celebrate today.  Daughter #1's partner actually has his birthday tomorrow, but this evening was when we had our birthday meal for him: bouef bourguignon, slow cooker style followed by apple crumble were the order of the day.  This was followed by a couple of hours of a game introduced to us by daughter #2's partner, involving thinking of  various items beginning with a randomly chosen letter of the alphabet each round.  It seems easy than it actually is in practice and the family have not let me forget the time I put coca cola, as an item of food being incapable apparently, of thinking of cabbage, cauliflower or courgette!
Meanwhile further cases of Omicron, the new Covid-19 mutation continue to be detected in even more countries, although we still don't know much more about in terms of transmissibility, deadliness etc.
