Here we go again.

I set off in the dark this morning, on my skinny bike tyres, not expecting that most of the roads and the cycle paths were without salt and totally treacherous. It was a very, very slow journey to work.

We got to school this morning ready for a week of Christmas assemblies only to be told that they'd been trying to call us to say that they'd had to cancel. With cases in the school going up, plus the fear of the new variant, they decided that gathering the students together was too much of a risk. Unfortunately, it looks like our mentoring and lunch clubs at that school will go that way too. It feels incredibly sad. For the staff, who are again stressed out of their minds with last minute rule changes to deal with and for the students who are just fed up of this. The lovely assistant head was rushing around this morning, trying to find additional face masks for students. Hard, when the announcements come so late.

And so it was off to the Quarry again for us, to film assemblies to send to schools. I guess this was expected. Maybe? Here we go again.
